wakeupplease
Disgraceful to see a photo like this for a crime that in the real world is civil and not criminal, just the country is so backward Handcuffs I ask you. Advice to the guy Admit it only if you did it otherwise say nothing and when they start going on about IP addresses they make it up as even the ministry who have given false information in the past and been caught out cannot check an IP address in another country so make it up and that is a fact. get your lawyer to force back your passport and leave by the backdoor if you have too. Sorry guys I have seen my best friend suffer like this and have the photo's and paperwork to prove it. 3rd world mentality that is for sure. Chip Allen
Best to live elsewhere if you want Western-style laws and sane enforcement. Thailand cannot and will not understand the concept of "rule of law" or the idea of justice. There is only punishment and vicious treatment of prisoners. Yes, but Thailand is not the "real world". It is a military-governed country grafted clumsily onto a medieval society. It has absolutely no regard for world opinion or prevailing legal standards in other countries. Even though I adhere faithfully to the local laws, I have no illusions that I could not find myself in a world of trouble, simply from a misunderstanding or failure to dot every "i" and cross every "t". You walk a tightrope when you live here and those who ignore this fact, do so at their own peril.

Totally agree, but he is a tourist not a resident, what he does in his own country is under his country's law not Thai law. If he did it she can make a complaint in France, not sure what the law is there so will quote UK law. If he did it in the UK she can make a complaint to UK police who would prosecute him so easy to do, but all this does is make Thailand look like it is and damages the tourist industry. Thailand is not the center of the universe and should respect other countries laws.

More than 200 people have been prosecuted since a new revenge porn law came into force in England and Wales last year, a Crown Prosecution Service report on crimes against women shows. The director of public prosecutions said the cases were part of a trend of crimes committed through social media. The use of the internet to control and threaten victims was rising, she said. Domestic abuse and sex offences make up 18.6% of CPS cases, with prosecutions and convictions at record levels. The CPS's annual Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) report, which also incorporates data on abuse and sex offences against men and boys, has been produced since 2007. So-called revenge porn often involves an ex-partner uploading sexual images of the victim to cause the victim humiliation or embarrassment. It became an offence to share private sexual photographs or films without the subject's consent in England and Wales in April 2015 , with a maximum sentence of two years imprisonment. The CPS report said 206 people were prosecuted for disclosing private sexual images in the first year of the offence. http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-37278264

sanemax
And in the UK Posting "revenge porn" images and videos on the internet is becoming a criminal offence in England and Wales. The Criminal Justice and Courts Bill, which has a specific amendment dealing with such actions, will receive Royal Assent and become law later. Offenders face up to two years in jail. The amendment covers images sent on social networks, including Facebook and Twitter, and those sent by text. Both Scotland and Northern Ireland are considering similar laws. The new English and Welsh law classes revenge porn as "photographs or films which show people engaged in sexual activity or depicted in a sexual way or with their genitals exposed, where what is shown would not usually be seen in public". It covers images shared on and offline without the subject's permission and with the intent to cause harm. Physical distribution of images will also be covered. Western Countries have the same law

Country laws should be respected but here they do as they want and do not respect any other law, thats why a plane was grabbed in Germany not to long ago. Only answer is publish-size what happens in country's who do not respect other country's laws and sit back as tourism drops off. We just do not know if he did it yet, if he did sod him. and the EVIL CCA law which a country uses to take more of your freedom from you. Western Countries have the same law The problem is that it is not about UK or comparable countries. I have no particular complacency for this guy despite the fact that he is a fellow citizen. The problem is that no party in this story can be trusted, neither the girlfriend, nor the police, nor the French guy, nor later the judiciary. So there can be endless discussions on this case but we will probably never know the real truth. It will be just how the various parties (in a judicial sense) will be able to influence the process. Regardless of what she may or may not have done, it doesn't excuse the actions of the man, posting revenge porn to the public domain. Akin to saying a woman deserves to be raped because of what she is wearing. Utter nonsense Whatever gender posted the pictures is a nasty and vengeful person, and should be held to account. I abhor the muslim restriction on female dress, but wearing sexually provocative clothing is not sensible either.
