Aircon installation price?

Featured Replies

Out of interest what do folk here pay for a normal aircon installation.........not more than 4 metres pipe?

In the past I've used a great guy, neat work, clever repairs, who i thought i was paying 1400 or 1500 but a friend recently paid him 1300 (plus he gets a very little profit on the machine but he supplies it very cheap) so maybe i paid the same not sure.

Thing is he's terrible to get hold of.

Now I have an excellent chap, very responsive, nice guy and speaks English well, but wants 3000 per unit (he would also be supplying, but again very well priced).

I'd like to use him, but it's a lot of difference.

So is the cheap guy an anomaly?

What do folk here pay?

When I bought mine I looked at various large suppliers (Numchai, BigC, HomePro, Powerbuy etc). All included full installation in the advertised price which was somewhat negotiable anyway.

Dealing with small suppliers here is simply too much hard work for me. Endless extras and problems.

Hmmm.....

I can remember getting a unit supplied and installed by the first chap I mentioned many years ago.

I happened to be in Homepro a couple of days later and noticed the same model was many thousands of baht more. I mean not a little bit. I have never even considered them since.

A pal had a 12/13000 BTU LG inverter supplied and fitted this year by the same chap. It cost 11,900 plus 1200 fitting (I was over on the price in the OP). Can a big store match that? I don't think so.

Can't speak for the other stores.

I very recently bought a AC from Lazada and got installed by a good company who I have used previously at a cost of 2,000 baht, they were unable to supply the AC unit I wanted, the price was substantially cheaper on Lazada (i think 6 or 7k cheaper?) than could be bought from any local shops.

look around for specials that include free fitting.

my last one from homeworks was 11.700 baht for a sharp, 12,000 btu

I have just researched aircons and found the big stores charge 50% more than you can buy at a specialist independent.

I have just got a 12k btu LG inverter for 10500 fitted.

The mitsubishi 12k inverter was 14000bt fitted.

In home pro etc the same models are 15k and 22k

Company is RC Air in Chiang mai but could well be nationwide.

Got a TCL 12000 inverter from Lazada on 9/9 for Bht 7500! But my local man charged 3000 for fitting, cables, pipes, insulation etc. 2 hours work. Good or not?
