TV just died

Featured Replies

My two year old 52" Samsung just died (no sound, no picture, just a very thin strip of light all around the edges). Worth repairing or get a new one? Thanks for any constructive suggestions.

check u tube host of info  to help you decide   if you are lucky it will help diagnosis

quite often self repair possible even if novice (not suggesting you are)

We had a similar thing happen to 40" Sony, a 10cm wide strip appeared appeared across a section of the screen.

Called a serviceman out who took one look at it a said that can't be fixed and didn't charge us for the call out.

My advice to you would be to try that option first before buying a new one. Your problem sounds a bit different

to ours and may not be terminal.

Lamkyong's suggestion is worth looking.

Thanks, I'll start googling. If not lucky it will be off to Power Buy tomorrow!

Only two years old? I trust you won’t be replacing with another Samsung?
