SamuiExServicemen Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 This year we continue to mark the centenary of the First World War. The Samui Ex Servicemen community on behalf of the Royal British Legion is asking everyone to support the Poppy Appeal for the memory of the fallen and the future of the living. The Legion created the Poppy Appeal to help those returning from the First World War. A century on from the start of that conflict, they're still helping today's Armed Forces families in much the same way, whether coping with bereavement, living with disability, or finding employment. The poppy is a powerful symbol - it is worn to commemorate the sacrifices of our Armed Forces and to show support to those still serving today and their loved ones. Money raised through the Poppy Appeal goes directly to our welfare work, providing through-life care to anyone who currently serves in the British Armed Forces, who has previously served, and their families. The Royal British Legion’s vital welfare work is entirely dependent on the public's support – so please give generously and wear your poppy with pride, knowing that with your donation you can help all of these people and the entire Armed Forces community to Live On On Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao Poppies have been available from the 28th October to the 19th November 2017 A Service of Remembrance will be held on the 12th November 2017 at The Shakespeare Pub in Plai Laem LIVE ON To the memory of the fallen and the future of the living Samui/Koh Phangan Poppy/Koh Tao Distribution 2017 · Red Fox Lamai · Woodies Bar Lamai · Islander Chaweng · Irish Times Chaweng · The Black Duck Chaweng · Angela’s Bakery Maenam · Sa Mons Restaurant Maenam · Relax Restaurant Choeng Mon · The Doghouse Bang Rak · Premier Bar Bang Rak · Bang Rak Cafe Bang Rak · M&Ms Bang Rak · Chill Out Oasis Bang Rak · Shakespeare Pub Plai Laem · International School of Samui · Emerald Bar Bophut · Max Murphy’s Nathon · Luckys Restaurant Nathon · Hunters Tong Krut · Harp Bar Koh Phangan · Sail Rock Divers Koh Phangan · Masons Arms Koh Phangan · Outlaw Koh Phangan · John’s Bistro Koh Phangan · Asia Divers Koh Phangan · Bangers & Mash Koh Phangan · Royal Resort Koh Tao · Safety Stop Koh Tao
SamuiExServicemen Posted November 8, 2017 Author Posted November 8, 2017 This Sunday, 12th November, there will be a Service of Remembrance at The Shakespeare Pub in Bangrak . The service starts around 10:30am with The Last Post followed by a 2 minute silence at 11:00am. As per usual there will be complimentary tea and biscuits on arrival. Could the fitter folk amongst us please walk 200m from the main road to the pub as we have limited parking. If you're not sure exactly where we are you can find us on Google Maps. We hope to see you there. Thanks, "Lest We Forget"
