So I just read this topic

Any changes since 2011?
Lets say that some car is worth 100k Euro in Europe, it has big and strong engine.
Do I understand well that after taxation it will be like  ~230k Euro/~8,7M Baht?

Hi, its me again :)
I just wonder... Due to that list about taxes connected with power and engine capacity, hybrid cars should be waaaaay cheaper (~10% of tax only). So why such cars (hybrids) made by premium brands are still super expensive? We have many cars from Mercedes, Porsche, Lexus with great hybrid drivetrains and they still cost at least twice comparing to Europe or USA.
I know that we are in Thailand and we shouldnt look for any logic here :) Byt maybe someone can give me some answer.

There are several different taxes applied to cars. The reduction for hybrids applies to just one of them. It does make a fairly big difference for luxury cars though. For an S Class for example the S500 hybrid is about 700k cheaper than an equal spec S350 diesel.
