gerrytraveller
170,000 bht per 1.2m tall cow is just a little excessive. In this case I do speak from experience. I have just built a 3.5m Pink Kangaroo on Koh Kood.. crazy maybe but thats not the point. Point is it cost me 30.000bht..made out of cement..not 140.000bht..!!! Amazing! Maybe they are trading on Chokchai's success next door. Neighboring Nakhon Ratchasima province is home to Chokchai Farm and the biggest herd of dairy cattle in Thailand. Send your friends for sure. http://www.thai-blogs.com/2009/02/03/farm-chockchai/ https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=chokchai+dairy+farm&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiHhdeZvMzXAhUFqo8KHW_SCbQQ_AUICigB&biw=1340&bih=618#imgrc=EWvuSNp520v_EM: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Life-Size-Black-White-Holstein-Cow-Poly-Resin-Fiberglass-Sculpture-Statue-/271886597034

wvavin
Still needs an answer? They are pretending to be stupid or what? This money has been long gone into theirs or family accounts of the government officials in Saraburi province. Isn't this so difficult for them to understand? noahvail
You can buy a full sized fiberglass cow in the US for ฿30,000. Hard to believe a small statue like that is 4x the price of something made in the US. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F272028310895

duanebigsby
Nothing screams "Thailand" than a cow dressed in a cowboy outfit. Why didn't they pick some Thai motif?
robertthesculptor
Actually this around the world is fairly common. And in spiterms of the whining it can draw visitors, which I think is the point and is cheaper than building one more showy Wat.some so called Net citizens are just spoiled or perhaps paid to dis an idea

SymS
There's a (fiberglass?) elephant factory where I live, and they sell each for 200,000 Baht. Dimensions are around 1.5m long x 1 meter high. So the price seems OK. Edited November 20, 2017 by SymS vocabulary

seahorse
What kind of cock and bull story is this? As usual, Thaivisa members are milking it for all it's worth. I'm sure the cowncil's accowntants haven't looked very closely at these figures, otherwise these mascots wouldn't have been mooved into position. Or cud they have made a mi-steak?
