December 8, 20178 yr I would greatly appreciate any recommendations on private medical insurance for Thai citizens. I would like to take out a policy for my wife so we have an option to the government hospitals. I've tried to research on-line but it seems as if everything is directed toward expat coverage. Thanks for any assistance.
December 8, 20178 yr Any insurance company that insures expats here will also be able to insure Thais here. It's the 'here' that matters not the nationality....as long as you pay the premium they will write a policy.
December 9, 20178 yr I believe BUPA Thailand has a policy specifically for Thai nationals. It won't show on their English language website so have your wife look at the Thai language one http://www.bupa.co.th/th/individuals/health-insurance/individual/index.aspx#.WitTF0tx2XQ I think it is the "Opal" plan, first plan listed. Note that it excludes care at certain specific hospitals.
December 9, 20178 yr I asked this question of an insurance broker who pointed me in the direction of AXA and BUPA. I've personally had great service from Allianz. Sent from my SM-G935F using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
