There's a brief nomination period in the General forum, so if you have a real life and don't visit that forum every day there is a very good chance you'll miss out on the fun of nominating your Thai Visa stalker or stalkee, oops best friend, just for the fun of seeing them make a fool of themselves campaigning for votes.  

 

At least I think that's what happened to me in 2014, when I came in second in the POTY contest and in 2015 when I finally clinched the tiara and was able to retire myself from the competition.  

 

Right now we're in the preliminary phase where the contestants are just strutting around on the catwalk, smiling pretty in their evening gowns.  Wait until the field gets narrowed down to just a few contestants and the talent and swimsuit competition starts.  Then it can get really ugly.  Makes The Hunger Games look tame.

Thought I would publish some results, I will put this in both poll threads

Poll#1  is running a good race with colinneil just ahead of the Transam by a bumper. Craig is keeping pace and waiting for his chance to pounce. The rest of the field is having a little trouble at the gate.

Well, Nancy, we had a very professional group of judges put together, but they saw some of the members in swim suits and got physically ill.   Several more got ill at the thought of the evening gown portion and the talent section was pretty sparse, with a few former Olympic Beer Drinking contestants.   So we are relegated to the current system.

I would have voted for you ,but Dave2,is/was a better man, his contribution to the CNX forum was most helpful to a lot of people, his pictures were worth 1000 words,while yours were mostly about Promenade and pushing agents, Oh! and fighting tooth and nail with Nancy.

Worgeordie, once I saw that Dave2 was safely nominated, actually it was me who nominated E/S.  Anyone who keeps on fighting with sweet lovable me, even after all the "yellow and red cards" he's received (as he puts it) has got to have a screw loss and is clearly qualified to be in the running for POTY.  

 

Being in this contest is a real test of how thick someone's skin is and how self-deprecating they can be.  Just ask Transam.
