I don't know, but I think "Reputation " contains all reactions , such as "Sad" "Confused" "Haha"  'Thanks" and "likes" . So it is conceivable that a very confusing  poster could have a very high reputation count.    Also this reputation option is a late addition to the forum , many posters posting for years did not have the opportunity to collect a reputation for a large percentage of their post count.

 I wonder how many "confused"  I will get for this post?

Hence the reason I am only batting a little above .500 despite my prodigious, informative and mostly eloquent content. I was nominated to run in POTY by a couple of my peers several years ago but then they got banned and like stepping in a dog turd with your new shoes, the moment was lost.

This short post got him 29 likes, and counting!

 

A lot of this has to do with where (which thread) one posts in, and when (the early posters collect most of the goodies)...personally, I generally read a thread for the first time when it has already gathered 5 pages of comments, or more.

 

As the saying goes: the future (read likes) belongs to those who rise (read post) early.

 

All this doesn't diminish in any way the amazing quality of your posts which are most probably printed and framed in someone's office at the NSA...

According to TVF, my reputation is " excellent" , but i can assure everyone that this is very far from the truth .

The sentence in bold script pretty well sums it up.

If you're the first to post in a pedophile thread (for example) and then proclaim the offender should be strung up by his scrotum or spend the rest of his days in a Thai prison with someone called Bubba, you will score huge reputation points. It has little to do with the quality of the post.

There was a guy named after a northern Thai city who used to exclusively monitor the News threads in order to get in the first post, which was always populous, hysterical rubbish purely designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator.

He accumulated something like 35,000 points using this method. 

Where you post also has a lot to do with your points total. The General forum is where a lot of the early dementia people hang out and constantly award each other points for doing little more than fart in bed. They are once again indulging in their little group tug appropriately called Poty. 

As has been pointed out, the local forum in which you post will also affect totals. For example, a CM lightweight would choke on his/her moat water if they were to seek sycophantic approval in the Phuket forum.
