I'd strongly suggest you download the Grab application on your phone.   ( there's both Grab Taxi and Grab car  all rolled into one application.)  While it has occasional glitches, overall,  I've found it an excellent and economical  means of transportation.

In Isaan cities there is no sea. its like comparing apples and oranges. the price value ratio is very good in my opinion. of course there are many other cities in thailand but who likes to live there..

Agreed!  I've got to be near water. 

 

Locally, there are many places to live that are much cheaper than central Pattaya.  Only a 20 minute drive or so and you are in the countryside.  Literally.
