The director at Don Meuang said that travelers should arrive 2 hours ahead of flight times. Sutheerawat Suwanwat said that there were some traffic problems at his airport yesterday as 114,000 passengers used 750 flights. He said there was an increase of 25% in staffing with police, soldiers and airport official on hand to help with the safety of passengers. At Suvarnabhumi director Sirot Duangrat said there were 192,000 passengers on 1,026 flights yesterday. The only problems were a shortage of car parking spaces which had been rectified by adding extra behind airport offices and at the Novotel Hotel. He expected January 2nd and 3rd to be the busiest days. The airports authority expects New Year travel to generate 1.83 billion baht in revenue.
