Does anyone know if you take out International Health Care cover, if you can do have an operation carried out back in your home country, whether it be by choice or by an emergency, after all, one would be paying for the policy ?

It depends on the terms of the policy.

Some cover you only where you live, some cover you worldwide (with exception of USA unless you pay extra).

Provided you are not from the US, should not have much trouble getting a policy that would also cover you in your home country (and anywhere else you might teavel). If you are from the US you would have to pay a substantially higher premium to have worldwide cover include US.

Thanks Sheryl

I will have to look into this, because I figure that if I can get cover here, but have the choice to travel back to Australia for any major operation or procedures, it would be worth it to me, i.e. if I am was well enough to travel.
