Royal Thai Police are in the process of coordinating with Interpol to issue blue and red notices against fugitive former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra, police deputy spokesperson Pol Colonel Kritsana Pattanacharoen said on Tuesday.

Kritsana said deputy national police chief Srivara Ransibrahmanakul had instructed police to follow up the issue closely and extradite the case.

They have been in contact with Interpol and asked it to issue a preliminary blue notice, which asks foreign countries to help locate wanted people, and red notice, which is effectively an international arrest warrant.

However, Kritsana, said the international agency had not yet issued a red because it believed its Thai counterparts had not submitted adequate evidence.

The police need to file more evidence as instructed, including the full verdict in Yingluck’s case in English, Kritsana said.

He said police had not yet received confirmation in regard to information that Yingluck is now in London, nor did it know about claims that she had sought asylum in the United Kingdom.

Thai police have also been in contacted with UK authorities, and would proceed with every needed legal procedure.

No police officer in the UK is going to arrest her during an asylum application, if someone did then I expect the courts to release her in the knowledge that she is under the UK government seeking asylum.

The term Pissing in the wind springs to mind here.

Quite difficult to come up with a diplomatic way of saying:

"Our modern, enlightened sensibilities leave us unable to co-operate with you merely to appease the vindictive, primitive, medieval, power hungry, blood-feud mentality of an opposing clan or clan group".

Do they really want her or her brother back in Thailand ? I doubt it could cause more problems then they anticipate !

My thoughts too...but it seems they are just trying to flex their little dicks to try and look tough...what a waste of time...like nobody else in the higher political circles does anything shady?...better they go after Khun Red Bull but we all know that won't happen which just goes to show you the hypocrisy that exists here...the funny thing is they think they are fooling everyone

This is the kicka; problem with the evidence? Maybe? Thai judicial system is put on trial if this information gets out. Could be a real giggle.

Obviously this is all nonsense. But one interesting aspect is that there is now no doubt at all that the Thai authorities are either liars or incompetents on this issue. The Foreign MInister has said he was told by the Brits in September that Yingluck was in the UK.Are we expected to believe that somehow he forgot to inform the police? Did he also forget to tell the PM? In the great scheme of things Yingluck's whereabouts is neither here nor there. But it does illustrate the downside of living under a military regime where there is no accountability and no free press speaking truth to power.

It might also be the time to recall that the British Foreign Secretary is a close old school friend of Khun Abhisit.Personally it defies credibility that Mark wasn't fully aware through his ties with Boris. He is of course is a private citizen and doesn't need to share his information with Uncle. But it might explain why he has kept silent on the matter - quite sensibly probably.

this case is so thai;

attempt to defuse any self-responsibility by blame-shifting, when the people at fault are themselves

First of all, there is simply no possibility she would have escaped without the blessing of the little man. Just would not have happened. He needed her to go away. Now that there is alot of heat over this, he is doing what charlatans do, they deflect, they lie, they obfuscate. He is as much of a deceiver as Trump is. They have much in common, except the little guy is probably smarter, which is not saying much.

And if you are really serious, which we all know you are not, offer a real reward, like 100 million baht for her capture. Hire some bounty hunters to go after her.

Thailand has so little credibility on the world stage at this point in time, there is not a law enforcement agency in the world that will cooperate in this facade.

The fact that they get away with it tells me that yes, they are fooling everyone.
