Video footage captures the stomach churning moment a 15ft python regurgitates a prize winning rooster that belonged to a farmer in Pathum Thani.

As farmer Nut Wattana realised two of his roosters were missing he spotted the enormous snake with its belly bulging hanging from the roof of the chicken coop.

Mr Wattana called rescuers to capture the snake. Not long after they arrived, the snake was filmed regurgitating one of the roosters, while the body of another was found nearby.

“I didn't hear the sound of the two cocks in the morning so went to look for them, the Daily Mirror who obtained the footage, reported Mr Wattana as saying.

“I saw the python had eaten one of the birds which cost me all together about 30,000 baht.

“I can't save the birds now. They were two of my favourites. Thankfully I have a lot more roosters and chickens.

“I forgive the snake because it was just their natural instinct.”

After being removed from Mr Wattana’s property the snake released into the wild.

Sorry I cannot watch this video, I just finished my lunch.

Down in Sumatra it was not uncommon to see huge snakes slit open to reveal fully grown adult humans inside them.

Usually a pic is taken showing the unfortunate meal with hair neatly combed in place, along with the tie,

and for some strange reason the event often happens in rubber plantations. I guess due to the higher than normal human traffic in these areas.

Now that was a mouth full + something 555
