The chief of the regional police has ordered the transfer of four more Koh Phangan policemen as investigations continue into allegations that police including the chief on the island were involved in organising drugs parties.

Two bars in Hat Rin have been ordered shut as of last week in the case in which station chief Pol Colonel Somchai Noppasri and deputy Surakit Khlaiudom have already been transferred to inactive posts as they are under investigation.

Their removal relates to a party held at the beach on October 6th 2017.

Yesterday Region 8 chief Maj Gen Sorasak Yenprom ordered four more Koh Phangan officers - three with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel - to be transferred to HQ pending the ongoing inquiry.

A top level meeting has been convened this morning at 9am, reported Thai Rath.

Many drugs were found at the venues on October 8th in military raids.

there have been blog posts since more than 10 years ago about bars where you can get shakes spiked with drugs.... even the new music festival Wonderfruit in Pattaya has lot of drugs available, worst part of this is that this is suppose to be a family friendly even too!

The dogma within the system seems to punish not because some go wrong, but because they were stupid enough to get caught !!

True only the idiots and careless ones get caught The smart ones prosper.

I'm guessing the word 'suspend' does not appear in the Thai dictionary

True....and neither do the words "sacked", "dismiss" or "revoked",  apparently...
