next time I meet an American,  I won't use my usual,  " how's things in America? Line.  I'll get right to the point and say, " isn't it shocking what trump is doing? "  and see what response I get.  That will eliminate any false positive.

You probably won't get a correct answer, many people who wanted CHANGE have to hide from the mob mentallity

of course YOU could do better and have a better idea how to fix things yes?

it would seem you think you do. If the economic growth is sustained, what excuses will you come up with then?

if it all falls apart, you can do your victory dance.

perhaps you could give it a chance, or just keep up the deep rooted hatred and vitriol.

I'm a numbers person who cares about the future of my country.  I can see where the numbers are leading.  I don't want to wait until it all falls apart, the stakes are far to high.

I have lots of better ideas about how to fix things.  I don't have the political skills to push them through, so I support candidates who I think can make progress.  I also oppose the candidates, and the current President, that are leading the country into dangerous territory.

Such a simple question:  Do you trust what Trump says?

Twice you've dodged it.  You're in denial of the fact that you follow a man you don't trust.

I trust his intentions. I did not trust the intentions of the previous clown and his socialist agenda.

should we go for a list of lies from previous presidents and play some silly game to make yourself feel better about your opinion? get over it Bruce and get a life

Yes, Medicare was in trouble before Trump made the situation worse.

How do you feel about the Republicans who want to cut Medicare?

I think we need to do a detailed audit of all the social programs and make them more efficient and accountable.

Trump does not create budgets, the house and senate does.

I feel we need to cut many things, including the federal govt unions that exchange their votes for increased benefits and making rules that they can not be fired for incompetence or laziness.

that would be fair, yes?

Sure,  my thought is irreverent. I am a mere Australian sheizenkicker. My purpose as is this forum is to check the polling numbers.  So by me letting you know that most Americans I meet don't have a problem with trump it might give you an idea on accuracy of polling numbers.

All politicians frame the truth in a manner favorable to themselves.  Most politicians will omit unfavorable information when that suits them.  A some politicians will tell a minimal number of outright lies if they think it will benefit them and they won't get caught.

No politician lies so blatantly, frequently, habitually, and in such an obvious manner as Trump.  So yes, if you want to compare the number of outright lies of past Presidents to the current one, let's go for it.

yes, many Americans do not have any problem with Trump, in fact what we have seen from the so called "expert political class" of polished bureaucracies is corruption and and self serving blather resulting in the deterioration of the middle class.

OK I get that.

But  for sure you do NOT say you are an American citizen.    I can post any flag on the planet.

Simple question..

You have an invisible flag.   Do you see your flag?

Presidents submit budgets (well, past Presidents did, who knows about this one) and uses them to state priorities and negotiate with Congress.

Insisting massive cuts are possible without providing any details, just stating a need for audits, is not helping your credibility.  What should the Republicans cut and where, now that they hold the Presidency and both houses of Congress?

Your post seems like that of a person who doesn't think life is as good as it should be (it never is) and wants to find a scapegoat.

What corruption in the US is hurting you?

I thought you were offering to start with a list of lies from past Presidents, but, if you really want to do this, here is a ten page list of verified and refuted Trump lies:   https://www.politifact.com/personalities/donald-trump/statements/byruling/false/

Your turn.

wow, that is an obtuse post.

Corruption in the federal govt hurts every tax payer, and it is only getting worse and less unaccountable.

get it bruce?

No, I haven't got it.  Give an example of corruption in the federal government, other than the obvious ones we've learned about from ethics investigations of Trump people.  If you insist it hurts taxpayers, quantify the financial pain.

They are grasping at straws because they don't want to admite they have  being had.  Not an uncommon human reaction.

The question I want answered by a trump supporter is: If someone has demonstrably lied to you repeatedly in the past, how can you be sure he is not lying to you now?

I would like to see those replying to this thread say if they are
American citizens or not.

I know  many posters are from other countries  but have not the  nerve or gumption  to admit that.

Stand forth I say.

Everyone on the planet can say what he wants on this forum which  by virtue of it's foundation cannot support free speech.   That was really a sarcastic statement  on many levels.  This forum cannot allow free speech at all  based on its foundation

Please be honest and at least say if your are a Brit,
Canadian,  Aussie or whatever

Do not be afraid.

Just say honestly from where you come..

Post accordingly with that honesty,  please.

I have not one time BUTTED  into the politics of another country with my thoughts.   I do not say anything about May or Merkel  or  any other head of state besides Putin.    I  liked Willie Brandt.

I say pause the vitriolic about another countries politics and focus on your own country.

TIA

I'm a Brit. Ti not A, TiT! As long as Trump meddles in the affairs of other countries, (many) we will have a right to pass judgment on him. Americans are always going to have subjective views on Trump, others can be more objective.

That would be an unreasonable dance since we don't support a liar

if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor...

in a new report that the Obama administration secretly tried to help Iran use U.S. banks to convert $5.7 billion in Iranian assets, after promising Congress that Iran would not get access to the U.S. financial system -- and then lied to Congress about what it had done

no straws to grasp, the lefties have outlawed those evil things

Depends upon how you measure the mis-quotes,errors,off the cuff remarks and New York Queens swagger . Surely  just one of these accomplishments in the link below ,puts every pundits concerns last!

I'm in Thailand, no point in protesting here.  So I make my views known on this forum.

You have clearly abandoned all attempts to defend the honesty and integrity of Trump, and even abandoned any attempt to show he isn't any worse than other Presidents.  That's because it is a hopeless task, Trump is clearly without honesty or integrity, and clearly far worse than any other President in these regards.

Yet you continue to support a President you know to be completely dishonest and untrustworthy.

But, but, but...Obama.

I'm skeptical about your "new report", but it's off-topic so I'll let it go.

The "accomplishments" are opinions, numbers showing the Obama recovery continues, and routine acts of government.

as blatant lie is something that when you say it you know it not to be true. An untruth is not always a lie. simply a wrong fact. As far as the Iranian fund repatriation is concerned it was something that was negotiated in the open.

Not more virtuous or superior than the next guy. If i thought that Obama was a habitual liar I would not support him either. I did not support Bush because of his policies but i always thought he was a honorable man, which is why he does not support trump also.

These are all reasonable assertions. Stil I have not seen an answer to the question  if someone has repeatedly and  demonstrably lied to you in the past why would you think he is not lying to you now?
