webfact
PM says election date to be set after enforcement of organic laws file photo BANGKOK, 7th February 2018 (NNT)-Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha says the date of a general election will be determined after draft organic laws on the election of MPs and the Senate selection have been enforced. In response to calls for an election date, Gen Prayut reiterated it could be set only after the enforcement of both draft organic laws which are still being vetted. He also denied having met local politicians to discuss political matters. Regarding the Thai Niyom Yangyuen committee’s recent regional visit, Gen Prayut said it was aimed at coordinating efforts by all sectors to improve social equality and raise the standard of living for Thais nationwide. -- nnt 2018-02-
Popular Post Eric Loh
NLA: no obstacles so far over last two organic laws Statement by NLA President Pornpetch back in November and suddenly this 2 laws have been stalemated. What a coincidence. The first reading was in November and normally the NLA deliberates a bill in 3 readings. This just not normal and sure the junta intention to prolong their stay is the big reason. Prayut could have ordered the NLA to complete the readings in a specific period IF HE WANTED. He has so much power but misusing it.

Popular Post steven100
Thailand is not ready for elections. Many countries fail when democracy is forced upon them due to too many political fractures wanting power. Popular Post spidermike007
The organic law basically means give us a chance to collect another $5 billion dollars. Then we will move on. This creep does not want to surrender his very, very lucrative franchise. It is all about money and power. Nothing else. The well being of the Thai people never, ever come into the picture. 2 1 2

It is much less developed and far behind and the constant coups, like this one, are the reason for it. The current men in uniform are getting sloppy and lazy doing a worse job than before they usurped power. Change is needed.
