First time ever happened to me, but yesterday at Bang Tao beach all of our party complained of itching after coming out of the water - my son in particular had some redness over his body

Nothing at Nai Harn yesterday.

I did notice some sealice though last week while diving.

Got stung quite badly at Nai Harn yesterday too.

Used to get slight stinging feeling in Patong going back to early 2005. One of my daughter's was more susceptible & would come out with some rather large welts although was OK prior to that as we visited the beach often

the sea lice things comes and goes in Kamala, not just in low or high season

this must be sea lice, is it seasonal?

No, not seasonal.

We visited Mai Khao on Wednesday, three of us just paddled in the water but the guy who swam later came out in a rash all over his body. He's been taking antihistamine for the itching and spraying colloidal silver all over him. Today it's still really bad. Did your rash look anything like this?

nothing close to that, just mild redness and some itching. After a shower is was basically gone

Does anyone know what those blue pipes are all about that run from the top end of the beach down to the sea?

Pipes for shrimp farms.

Better swim more up near the Marriott. Water quality there is usually very good.
