Only every known these generically as Molex. But that probably is not the real name and there is undoubtedly a identifier for it's size and number of pins. More important where can I get one. Heading into Bangkok this weekend.

"Molex" is actually the manufacturer's name but (like Hoover) it's become synonymous with a particular product.

 

To get one head over to the Ban Mo area, a taxi to Old Siam Plaza will get you there, or walk/MC from Hualampong MRT (2km). The whole area is a rabbit warren of electronics places, but I reckon you'll score without leaving the plaza itself.
