Kindle Battery Replacement

Featured Replies

Is there anywhere in Thailand to get a new battery for a gen 3 Kindle. Amazon said they have no support for Thailand and suggested I buy a new one.

I am in Khon Kaen area, but no problem to go to elsewhere to get a battery. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thank you

I've just looked at this and ebay seems to be the way to do it with batteries coming from China,  Hong Kong or one from Australia.  But then I ran my battery down to the lowest level until it switched itself off and recharged it and it seems OK now.

with all the hassle involved with replacement might be preferable to get a new unit..

needs a steady hand...no drinkin' fer 2 days before any attempt...

There's these people, although I've never used them.  It might be worth asking.

I replaced the battery in my Kindle Touch with a battery purchased from AliExpress.  There were several YouTube videos that showed the process quite clearly.

I'm no techie but it wasn't too difficult.  Took less than an hour to do.  You will need  a phillips screwdriver with a very small head and a thin piece of plastic, like a guitar pick for prying the back cover off.
