Stoke seemed to want Arsenal shirts so badly they were trying to get them every time they got near an Arsenal player. Dean did fuc_k all about it most of the time.

So instead we had three set pieces:

(1) Free kick from Ozil, a curler that the keeper could only parry to Ramsey, 1-0.

At 1-0, a route 1 from Stoke was hit against the post and fell kindly into the path of some Stoke prop forward to whack into the net, 1-1

(2) A corner from Ozil that Mertsacker looped over the keeper, 2-1.

(3) A free kick from Ozil that Sagna looped over the keeper, 3-1.

Stoke did their usual anti-football, they are <deleted> beyond belief and them getting relegated would be the sweetest thing in premiership history.

They'd be better off playing in the Heineken Cup.

One booking for Stoke, that makes 7 cpompared to your 8 and 1 red card too.No wonder most fans hate Arsenal and your logo says everything, women know nothing about football.

Arsenal are hated all over the country because of your mammy pamby supporters and players, moan moan moan.Wasnt long ago you were booing your players

What can i add, bar that you've missed the ultimate hypocrite, the mincey prof himself. Storms off down the tunnel without a handshake when he loses, suffers from partial sight when his player commits a dreadful foul right under his beak and runs screaming to the official whenever a decision doesn't go his way. Aside of that, you've nailed it!!biggrin.png

Excuse my ignorance gents but am i right in saying that Ozil, Wiltshire and Carzola best position is the central position of the attacking midfield three ?

You are right Alfie, but the latter 2 are usually injured anyway. biggrin.png

Thanks YB, i thought it might be too technical for the Arse mob biggrin.png

Yeah - we have one and a half, going on two, mid-fields of pure class. Better position than Man U, who have half a midfield at best! If I were Moyes I would be tapping up Arsene to take back Arteta to his new club at Christmas. Arsene is not childish (unlike the Chavs) when it comes to keeping stuff business-like.

Wilshere has recently recovered from a long term injury, but since when is Cazorla "usually injured"?

He made 47 starts last season +2 subs.

Talking shit really, aren't you?

Yes I was, but no one seems to be offering another reason.

No.

Because that implies that we play three in midfield. Which we don't.

I think its called a squad, you have cover if anyone gets injured or is tranferred, has to visit mum etc. I am sure they are all really rather versetile and play left or right if required, on the money they are on, I certainly would, although I would not last to long in the modern game but I rather good at diving and feigning death.

Ok i will re-phrase the question as it obviously got you stumped laugh.png

Is Ozil's best position the centre of the attacking midfield three ? taking into account you play 4-2-3-1

Is Wiltshire's best position the centre of the attacking midfield three ?

Is Carzola's best position the centre of the attacking midfield three ?

One word answers will suffice !

You are making ridiculous assumptions about Arsenal's playing formation.

Not surprising really, your managers have been doing it for 16 years.

Still, what does he know.

I'm asking about each individual player, nothing to do with formations !

But on a different note what formation do you play then ?

You're asking about players in a mythical formation. I have no idea what you are on about, The Arsenal midfield and forward line rotate all the time, there are no hard and fast static positions. If one drifts out of one position, another one will drift in to fill the gap.

It's a philosophy that Wenger first used with Vieira and Petit.

If you look at Ozil, Cazorla, Wilshere and Rosicky, any one of them can play anywhere in the centre of the park, or if you like the old inside left and right positions, although none of them are particularly defensive minded; Arteta and Ramsey are better in front of the back line.

But as you might have noticed, even Ramsey isn't bothered about getting forward into the attack; you might not have noticed someone dropping back to cover when he does so.

I think Wenger is a great fan of that brilliant Ajax football of the 70's.

Alfie. Without wishing to sound like a sanctimonious prat more than I usually am mate, Arsene Wenger has given the EPL some of the best football the EPL have ever seen.

Plimsolls may be getting a bit grey and worn but the geezer can still do it.

Respect.

Cheers. AVB doing great too.

Alfie,

Are you simply being obtuse or are you really that much of an idiot when it comes to football?

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
