Santi Suk (Doi Lo)=> Anybody?

Featured Replies

Hi there,

i am on the way for look some land for my Thai wife. From what i see, land in Santi Suk (Doi Lo) is still not that expensive. But ok, it´s more than 38 Kilometers far from CM City.

Is there anybody who stay there, and can report?

Thanx

Cheers

Hoss

Used to live down there....It's pretty far out with no real shopping or decent dining, or fuel near by - Chom Thom closest & not much there

.......Even with the Canal Rd extension, if you need to go into CM it's a long pull that gets tiresome.....

Back in the day me, & one other guy were about the only pale faces around & kind of curiosities......Possibly a few others sprinkled about by now...

How much they asking per rai now? Used to be about 60-80k....

A LOT of land there floods during heavy winters....I'd stay away from any low lying areas, especially near streams.....Trucking in topsoil can be expensive.....

Lot's of shady/shakey land "offers" - be careful....They come out of the woodwork once they see somebody looking - especially farang; been there, done that....

The police probably will stop by to advise you that it'll be safer if you provide a montly brown envelope....We didn't & didn't have any problems.....But had 24 hour live in help (wife maid during the day/husband provided night security & took it seriously & stayed awake through the nights).....Someone did come and net the fish pond near the house dry once while we were gone for a weekend - probably everyone in the village knew who but we never found out = they are always watching....

Loud music bars can spring up be invisible during the day time & insufferable at night with no real protections for you.....Check out the area of interest carefully and at all hours......

We were told in passing conversation recently about someone wanting to sell about not quite 1/2 rai of land for 775,000B which would have made his rai worth about 1.2m.....

They're looking to strike it rich.....
