Phuket Super Cheap delivery truck in heavy rear-end collision

PHUKET:-- A man was pinned inside a Super Cheap delivery truck when it rammed into the back of a construction supplies truck about to make a U-turn on Thepkrasattri Rd in Koh Kaew earlier today (Mar 26).

 

Phuket City Police was notified of the accident at 11:50am, while the blocked road caused traffic tailbacks that stretched for several kilometres.

 

Kusoldharm rescue workers along with medical staff from Mission Hospital Phuket soon arrived at the scene, on Thepkrasattri Rd northbound before the Kaimook Sapam pearl shop in Moo 1, Koh Kaew.

All these little supercheap trucks drive crazy quick. And there swarm about like flies. Seems to be mostly Burmese driver and mate. I suppose cos the company want the lowest cost labour.

I see this so often - trucks carrying steel beams which project many feet off the back of the truck with no warning flags attached.  In Canada if a load projects 1.2 m beyond the deck of the truck red flags must be attached.  Making a u-turn would result in the load projecting well into the right hand driving lane.  Especially dangerous to drivers following too close and speeding by.

Yes, and I recall quite a few reports on SuperCheap delivery trucks in accidents.

Most supercheap drivers are incompetent and have no business driving on the road. 

All these complaints about SuperCheap drivers. There's a reason why it's called SuperCheap.

If the smell is the same horrible rotting one in the trucks like in the shops it would explain a lot.
