Video: Bangkok bird gets a free trip to Qatar!

Passengers on an airliner travelling between Bangkok and Doha in Qatar on Monday experienced an unusual event - a bird was flying around the cabin all the way to the Middle East.

A video showed the bird flitting about trying to find an escape route from the plane at 39,000 feet. Several passengers tried to grab it.

The "Tribune" website quoted a 29 year old man as saying that air-hostesses tried to ignore the bird and no formal announcement was made.

Video poster Jack Buckingham from London said he thought the bird had no owner and had got on in Bangkok.

I saw a birdy flying by,

It dropped a message from the sky,

When I wiped it from my eye,

I thanked the airline that elephants could'nt fly!
