Smart move and nice profit to Goldman.

 

The article is a bit confusing. Who did they sell it to?

It says Pace want to sell to King Power and buy out Goldman, but Pace don't have that kind of cash at the moment.

Thats about one-third more than the $235 million they paid just over a year ago.

interesting that they would push that sort of money into thailand under the then deeply entrenched junta.
obviously democracy brow beating only applies to cambodia where they have no sway

"Stunning building" and "Bangkok" in the same sentence is an oxymoron. Just like with the women. A lot of people say Thai women are beautiful. I just don't see it myself. Fine if you like your woman to have the body of a teenage boy, I guess, or in fact, maybe they actually were a teenage boy a few years earlier.

I like any building that looks like its made of lego or that Godzilla has bitten a piece out of.

It's not really a Thai building in any event, the architect was German. But the landscape of Bangkok, just like Hong Kong, London and any other major city has changed in recent years and many of the iconic new buildings are pretty groundbreaking in design. If you don't like postmodernist architecture that's fine, but this is a great example, and would sit well in any capital city. A trip around on the centre of Bkk on the skytrain really showcases some of the recent changes (around Ploenchit for instance)... It looks a lot different than a couple of decades ago.

 

Regarding Thai and Asian women generally - a lot of folks here do indeed find many of them to be beautiful. But you might want to be a bit more careful who you're taking home if you're finding they look like teenage boys.
