The deputy fire chief in Bangkok has denied that the person responsible for using water from a red fire hydrant was one of his men.

But if it is later proved otherwise they will get what's coming to them.

A video on Facebook shared to the "Drama Addict" page got a lot of attention. It showed a long pipe connected to the hydrant leading to where people were playing Songkran in front of a shop selling coffins in Isaraphap 17 district.

Daily News said that it was a crime that could get three years in jail or a 6,000 baht fine or both.

Somkiat Nonthakaew said that initial investigations had not shown that it was a fireman who was responsible thought he conceded that it was someone with knowledge about such matters.

If however it was later proven to be one of his men then they would face the full force of the law.

The initial video was taken down, said Daily News, after fears of retribution but it was still being shared.
