Anyone here live near Phra Ram 9 MRT?

Featured Replies

I spent quite some time in the area. Most apartments are inside Ratchada soi 3 and in the adjacent sois from there and up to behind Esplanade and Big C (which would then be MRT Thailand cultural center). The condos at Thanon Ding Daeng start at about 13k, so not in your budget.

I never felt unsafe in this area. By now foreigners are very common in this area, a few years ago it were way less.

No chance in the 5-10k region around there....move out a bit.

No problem to find something in this region, but it will be a studio apartment ;)

There are literally dozens and dozens of apartments in this price range around there especially in Ratchada soi 3. Also, further up Ratchada rd near Esplanade and The Street (soi 7 & 10 etc).

You'll find everything from 2.5k to 50k within 1km of Rama 9/Ratchada intersection.

Lower end soi 3, this gets flooded though when it rains a lot and is quite busy.

soi 5 at the top end if you don't use the aircon but buy a fan.

I'm astonished at the prices there as I assume you are correct.

A one bed at Petchaburi would be minimum 20k a month so quite incredible really.

What do you get for 10K at Rama9??

Yeah, that's what my searches are turning up.  I'm not fussy about amenities like a pool or a workout room as I plan on joining a gym and apartment complex gyms tend to be shit anyway.

Lived there for a few years, nice area., except taxis would not always want ro go there as traffic can be bad

Hard to find online. Get off at the MRT station and do some foot research.

10K will find you a studio not so far from the station.

My friend had a one bed at Ideo right next to the MRT Huay Kwang for 16k on a 6 month lease so for 10 there will be options.

If you cant be bothered with that look on Airdnb and contact the owners direct and offer them a deal.

Good to know.  I think I'm just going to rent up near Huai Khwang or further out anyway, I have been in the area before and enjoyed it and the commute into the city center isn't that much longer.  I just liked Phra Ram 9 because there were a ton of malls, grocery stores, and amenities within walking distance.
