I am thinking about staying a few days/maybe a week in Hua Hin in July.

I have never been before and was hoping for a few recommendations on guest houses and were exactly to stay.

I have been looking on the net at Lamai Beach. Is this a nice area?

Also I am thinking of renting a Vespa while there.

Has anyone rented from Lamai Beach before?

Lamai Beach are on Kho Samui island !!! Not Hua Hin !!

This may not necessarily be true tomorrow. Things happen in Thailand all the time.

As always in Thailand a lot depends on your budget, I have stayed at the Leng Guest House, very clean but not that cheap, many others in Phetkasem Rd - some cheaper, depends what you are looking for.

10min walk from centre or 50B in tuktuk

If you pm me I can give you the deatails of a very reputable company that rents out & sells Vespas. Beware, though, they will want to see a valid driving licence from you & insist that you wear a helmet. This guy is very hot on safety.

The entire street where Leng guesthouse is is filled with guesthouses. I wouldn't even imagine you'd need to book in July, you could just walk down & take your pick. There are also good guesthouses in the centre of town, like the Doghouse and some of the Scandinavian ones.
