Perhaps the Scouts have realized that in 2018 young boys going camping in the woods with grown men dressed in shorts is not a particularly smart marketing strategy

 

I supect they’re inviting the girls along to appeal to a more mainstream audience.

When i was young i was in the boy scouts , we cooked on camping trips and did bob a job around town ,the girls were called girl guides and did the same , why all this PC nonsense , next it will be the non binery scout guides .

Most people do actually believe that boys will be boys, and girls will be girls, and both science and popular opinion confirm both. 

As a former Eagle Scout and Merit Badge counselor I disassociated myself from scouting a few years ago. Both the Girl Scouts and the Boy Scouts of America have lost their way and forgotten their mission was to engage young people in an outdoor life, self sufficiency and to build character, skills, scholarship and good citizenship. The poor used to be equal with the rich in scouting but that is no longer the case once the outside agitators became involved. It is a real shame and young boys have nowhere to go. Probably why the NRA youth groups are growing because scouting turned its back on these kids.

BSA has a long history of alliance with the NRA. 

 

Hunt. Fish. Shoot. Archery. Horseback riding. Marksmanship. 

 

There is nothing wrong with kids being kids and boys being boys.

The trend seems to be the destruction of all male-oriented spaces and activities.  First it was allowing girls into the Boy's Clubs of America, then allowing girls on to boys sports teams, now boy scouts, next up is college frats getting disbanded.

 

Also I have zero problem with women joining the NRA and learning to shoot.  I know many women who carry every day and are passionate about firearms and the 2A, but what's going on here is ridiculous.
