Flu Shots

Featured Replies

I believe that I already had the flu this year just after Songkran. It was very strange all the typical symptoms, just seemed to come on sequentially (each day was another problem) rather than all at once. In any case, since rainy season is also a heavy flu season does it makes sense to get a flu shot. In the US, once you contracted the flu there was no point in getting a shot. Does the same apply here, since there are so many variations floating around?

There are many variations of flu everywhere so unless you knew the type and what the shots are designed for that might not be true - and even then shots are designed for more than one type of flu.  Remember visitors to Thailand come from all parts of the world so just about every variation will be a possibility here.  There are also both Southern and Northern shots here and they are normally a bit different.  I have stuck with the Northern (US) jab which normally arrives in Thailand in about September.  Believe the Southern is available now.
