BANGKOK, 17th May 2018 (NNT) - Nigerian Ambassador to Thailand H.E. Mr. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli has paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-ocha at Government House.

During the meeting, Gen Prayut congratulated H.E. Mr. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli on his appointment as Ambassador to Thailand and expressed the hope that both Thailand and Nigeria will enjoy stronger relations during H.E. Mr. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli's tenure.

Gen Prayut voiced his confidence in Nigeria's economic recovery and growth plan. The Federal Republic is the biggest economy in Africa and has good potential for trade and investment in the eyes of Thai investors.

While the Thai government has issued the Thailand+1 policy to make the country the gateway to Southeast Asian countries, Nigeria is deemed to be the gateway to African countries for members of Thailand's private sector.

Both sides voiced their readiness to support each other's development projects. The Thai government has offered to send experts in public health, agriculture and tourism to Nigeria and to help the African nation implement King Rama IX's self-reliant economic philosophy.

H.E. Mr. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli said Thailand was a model of agriculture and agro-processing industry. He expressed an interest in the rice-planting technologies of Thailand. The two parties also pledged to cooperate in narcotics prevention and suppression as well as consular and immigration affairs.

The Nigerian ambassador should have apologized to the Thais for sending so many scammers and criminals to Thailand.

They came by themselves, were not send in the way you imply.

Probably asking for a donation from Nigeria to help pay for the unproportional amount of Nigerians in Thai prisons.

I believe Prayut answered one of the good mans emails some time ago and picked up 50 mil for the trouble.

And we thought they were all scam mail!
