Unreliable WIFI....I want to pay to get my own

Featured Replies

The WIFI where I am staying is sometimes unreliable.

I want to go ahead and pay to get my own.

Please recommend a company in Bangkok that is know to have fast and reliable WIFI.

You get yourself a MiFi/4G Router and a SIM card.

You need to provide more detail if you want tailored advice.

You need to tell us if you want mobile and or fixed point "WiFi"

You may need to get a broadband connection.

WiFi by its very nature is dependent on the number of users at any point in time. It slows down as more users are engaged in downloads. That's why the free WiFi in McDonald's is virtually useless.

A company may start out with fast and reliable WiFi. It then becomes a victim of its own success.

Thanks for the tips. I will probably just use the hotspot on my smart phone when the WIFI is unreliable.

I will likely go ahead and get broadband home internet.

Any suggestions for companies in Bangkok?

Thanks again.

I use AIS for mobile Wi-Fi and 3BB at home. Neither have been any real problem

Get one of the unlimited packages and tether it to your phone.

Works great.

A example of a SIM card package;

*777*7283# for 6 Mbps for 6 month package. 1926 baht inclusive.

If you prefer a click-through;

http://m.ais.co.th/GAHPdw4FP for six month 6 Mbps package.

Of course you'll need a device in which to put the SIM.

If 6 Mbps isn't enough, there are also packages that offer the max available in your location for 1605 baht per month.

Current AIS is offering a 10 Mbps 30 day package for 535 baht; http://m.ais.co.th/epHO4DqTY

As to which company is reliable. You need to ask at your condo which is allowed. Otherwise mobile broadband it is.
