Hi all. In the visa forum, I posed this question already. I just need to know if anyone locally has been to Ranong for a visa run with a work related B visa that was not canceled after leaving your job.

Was the exit successful? I have not worked for 3 weeks and these yahoos have yet to cancel the work permit that helps to cancel the visa. I want to exit without drama and come back in on another visa.

Tks.

Not sure if this is any help as its been a few years since I have done it so the contact could be out dated but...

Before when Ranong was being difficult and I wanted to check my multi entry would be ok I contacted Jessie (English speaking) at Andaman Club 084 465 5947 and she asked the immigration office at the pier to confirm. I also have an email which I think is ramon at andamanclub

I was turned away as my passport expires in November. Long story short, they wanted 2000b to let me exit and give me 30 days only, even though I have a multiple entry O that expires on June 26th. and the visa could have been given for 90 days.

Still shell shocked, drove back, denying them the 2000b. They pulled my wife to the side and asked her for the money. She was speechless.

And yes, other things came up:

1. I cannot get a work permit with a non o. BUZZ WRONG

2. I needed the visa canceled (extended of stay for work) in Phuket.

3. If I go to the casino, I will be allowed back in with the 30 day stamp AND fined 500b a day counting from Friday, when I no longer worked. The 2000b was to allow me to leave and come back and get that fine and 30 day entry. How generous!

Surreal. This week I will send my passport off for renewal and go to good old Savanaket for a multiple o.

If you went to Phuket immigration and applied for a 60 day extension (marriage), would they maybe cancel your working extension at the same time?

I had a few problems a while back with Ranong, the boat man was trying to get me to join a boat with 2 others for 300baht at Sapan Pla, I had crossed over plenty of times to know that if you go with a regular shared boat its only 50baht. He was quite annoyed and when I came back I was given a hard time from immigration which I think was down to turning down his boat friend. Told I could not cross here anymore with a multi entry (o) I needed to apply for an extension, he did stamp me in eventually, after that I mostly flew in/out or used casino.

Maybe you should ask the mods to move this to the visa forum. You might get some more knowledgeable replies.

I think there are visa issues. OP apparently has a non-immigrant B (or extension of stay based on that) plus a non-O.

Try reading the first sentence in the OP. He's already posted in the visa forum, unless you're talking about seeking input about his updated situation.

I'd read the OP yesterday and was referring to the update mainly, but I assume that's in the visa forum as well, but I had not taken into account the first sentence, unusual for a pedantic sod like me!
