A Mercedes Benz driver has escaped serious injury after the vehicle he was travelling in caught fire in Mai Khao last night (July 12).

Tha Chatchai Police were notified of the boring car on Thepkrasattri Road, northbound, at 11.40pm.

Firefighters, along with two fire trucks and the Tha Chatchai Police, arrived at the scene to find a Mercedes Benz ablaze. It took about 20 minutes to bring the fire under control. The car was totally destroyed. The cost of the damage is believed to be in excess of 400,000 baht (according to the police report – The Thaiger thinks the estimate is ‘conservative’).

Totally boring, man.

Someone will be along shortly suggesting it was an (extremely dangerous[emoji5] ) LPG vehicle

I suggest electric fault due to improper repair.
I would agree...I once had a car dash board fire...which luckily burned itself out, though afterwards the front lights didn't work (strangly the back lights and one indicator light worked) so we had to drive the last couple of miles home in the dark very carefully....[emoji15]

Or burst oil or fuel hose spraying on to the exhaust
