I need a manual for my genset (particularly the electric setup) and I think my unit is a copy of another brand name.

Can anyone recognise what brand this machine could be copied from?

Morning Crossy. Waiting for my new fuel tank, should be here next week.

No, no problems but was reading your great posts on the automatic gen starting thread as would like to make mine auto start stop. Just wanted to look at my gen electrical set up.

I like that module from the UK to replace the start stop switch in the genset.

My changeover switch is equip with manual or automatic changeover, so I think that part's fine.

On the initial installation of the wiring from the changeover switch to the genny I took too 2 extra wires for expansion. I later became worried that 2 was not enough for auto start, but with that '3 position key replacement' module, seems like I just need 1 wire.

Early days yet as just reading your thread last night.

Flooding down there? Pretty constant rain here for 3 weeks. Going to be a deadly road if it keeps raining for the start of Buddhist Lent.

No flooding yet, actually the river is pretty normal, the dams are doing their job, at present.

That unit from Gencontrol is pretty neat. Not particularly cheap but an all-in-one almost plug and play job. Should need nothing extra at the genset as it can be connected directly to the start/stop key switch.

Yes, it just needs one pair to the "start" contacts of your ATS.

For those who wonder what we're on about, it's this

102 Squid plus shipping. Yes they do ship to Thailand and are pretty quick

A couple of extra thoughts.

Which ATS do you have? You may need to add some sort of mains sensing unit (again from Gencontrol).

That auto-start unit draws about 10mA standby current so if you don't run the genset regularly you may want to add a battery minder to keep the battery topped up. There are few things worse than a genset that fails to start when you need it (it is always dark and raining).

But this project should be well within the capabilities of a half-competent DIYer ?

EDIT If you add the optional BVS module it will start the genset to charge the battery when it reaches the voltage threshold.

Like many Chinese products, generators are often manufactured and assembled by several companies who share supplies and designs. Products can be manufactured at factory A and end up with the brand name of factory B or become branded later in the chain. After sales support for most of these products stops at the final supplier who often print their own manuals and handle repairs.

Doing Electric Fujian Ltd is either the main manufacturer, part of a group, or has been absorbed into Jiangsu United Power Friend Technology Ltd which has a global distribution and branding office in Hong Kong.

For electrical diagrams and specs I suggest you first try contacting one of the factories and include a photo of your product to overcome the several model numbers used for the same product. Good luck as they often avoid any support query from end users. If this fails, try chasing the various brands of the same product to find end user documents.

Auto start.

WARNING - Be aware of fire risks with unattended auto starting. Locate generator in low risk area inspect and test regularly.

China markets have a large selection of manual-remote/auto start modules ready to wire into most control panel setups.

The following professional controls site gives good information on the subject if you register and login.

A splash of research, suggests that 90% of key start / stop gensets use the same format of keyswitch.

It should be simple to verify that our OPs unit has the same format.

Hi,

My ATS model is: HYCQ5M-100/4P

I've got the pamphlet filed ...somewhere.

Thanks for your interest.

Very nice and a clean floor as well. [emoji2]

They didn't answer my request for another manual.

I think I have found enough info to work out my electrical system.

I'm just waiting on my frequency meter to check my output frequency.
