webfact
Former US pilot shoots himself dead at house in Chiang Mai Picture Banmuang A Thai wife heard a single shot ring out at their house on the Rattanakosin Road in Chiang Mai yesterday. She ran to a bedroom where her husband was dead from a bullet wound to the right temple. Police found the gun still in the dead man's hand. He was 62 year old Michael McLaren who Ban Muang said was a former pilot from the US. "Neung", 48, his wife said that he had been suffering stress from diabetes for many years. He had gone to sleep alone on Wednesday morning when the shot ran out. Deputy provincial police chief Pol Col Piyaphan Patrapongsin was among the officers from Mae Ping police station and medics on the scene. The body has been sent for autopsy after the incident in house number 26 of Soi 1. Popular Post wwest5829
As usual, mixed feelings. Sad for those who remain behind who wil miss him. He’s the conflict with me. I think we should each have control over our own existence. Should I determine that I no longer wish to exist, I would not allow anyone stand in the way of when and how I will end my life. I certainly would join others in wishing that he Rest In Peace. 10 2

Sad way to end his life. Nobody knows only him what propelled him beyond our knowledge and underdtanding and many more sadly don't really care. A pilot can work for Delta, or for United or UPS etc. 49 minutes ago, Mickmouse1 said: How can anyone prove that he shot himself? It's relatively easy in a case like this because of the angle of entry and exit wounds, blood splatter etc. Why are casting aspersions on the widow without knowing any facts? Diabetes can be a brutal disease in its end stage and you have no appreciation of the pain, the discomfort and the misery these people suffer. This would have been mature onset diabetes as he would not have qualified as a pilot if it had been juvenile diabetes. I expect it was concurrent with advanced heart disease. 5

I can understand and sympathise with the American guy because at some point you do think that there is no other way out. I am 74 and I don't have enough time to do all the things that I want to do. I have a bad back due to an accident back in 1982, a couple of shot to sh1t kneecaps and I am close to borderline diabetes. I just keep plodding along and while I am bitching about my aches and pains it proves that I am still alive. I have a 14 year old son and I want to be at his university graduation in a few years time which is a good motivation. I also have an exit strategy for when it all gets too much but mine is less painful and involves helium, a plastic bag and a comfortable chair over in my store shed.

GK sadly there are too many posters on TVF like Mickmouse1 who take delight in posting crap comments like this and the more knock backs they get the happier they are with somebody elses misfortune.

That’s as significant as saying that all the traffic fatalities in Thailand had traces of spicy food in their stomachs at the time of death. 3

I DO have a perspective on it. being 64 and I've been taking insulin for over twenty years now. Three (known) heart attacks, triple bypass, a stroke, can't really remember when I was last able to "cut the mustard" with the ladies, (though I am told I am able to "lick the jar" skillfully...). Just want to say get some help if that black beast comes prowling from out of the shadows. Maybe down is the only direction, but I intend to enjoy every inch of the jump.“Do not go gentle into that good night”. 2

TV is one way to pass the time......would be nice if there were a little more pleasantries though , but that might take the appeal out of it

When I was best suited to do that, I didn't have the money and now that I do, I have work obligations, and sad to say the deterioration of the body that hits us all when we stop being young sprouts of 22 and ready to take on the world. That being said, I like living and want to stick around especially since I have dependents of the bad breath and furry kind.
