Mekong River bursts its banks in Mukdahan

The Mekong River in the northeastern border province of Mukdahan has burst its banks, allowing water to flow into riverside areas.

 

Before noon today, the water level at the Mukdahan hydrographic centre was measured 12.54 metres, 4 centimetres higher than the designated “maximum level” of 12.50m.

 

Shops on the basement floor of the Indochina Market by the Mekong River were inundated, forcing traders to move their mechandises to high grounds.
