There was a newspaper lying next to it. He stopped himself reading the articles less than flattering about him. This was despite the fact the newspaper was black and white, and read all over.

Seems it's better to be a dog than a human in Thailand.

Too true. Kick a dog that's growling at you and you'll face a stiff fine for assault, but if the same mutt bites you (without provocation I add), the most it faces is a free rabies shot and an hour 's detention for attitude adjustment.

He is a good looking dog.  Smart too, he knows where to stay to avoid being bothered.   Had the grumpy general showed the same sort of kindness to due process and participatory government in 2014, Thailand would be a better place.  At least, it is a better place for one stray dog.

The PR machine is revving up. Election must be around the corner. What's next? Prayut climbs up the side of a building to rescue cat stranded on a ledge?

Lots of propaganda floating around these days: just last week I was listening to a speech about some important dude - apparently he had resolved the divisions in the south ?

Junta PR machinery working over drive to milk this mundane act of animal kindness. He is still the big D...and a fake PM that stole democracy and jailed people from speaking out.

That is exactly what it is. Friend of the fatherless! Protector of the weak! Iron-willed brilliant commander! Guiding light of the nation!

At least the USSR and Warsaw Pact countries could add free health, a job and a roof over your head as a sweetener. What is he offering by way of compensation for his one party state?
