Best Vodka to Bring In

Featured Replies

Do you guys have favorite bottles of alcohol to bring in. I was thinking of picking up a couple of under 1 liter bottles of vodka tomorrow before my flight into bkk.

I really do not want to worry about glass bottles in the checked luggae. I had smirnoff in a plastic bottle down as my current choice.

Any other good, plastic bottle choices? Not lookimg for anything expensive, but all ears otheriwse. Thanks!

Just pack them in the centre of your bag, never had a glass bottle break.

I usually have Smirnoff raspberry in a glass bottle.

I've always felt the plastic bottles are more fragile than the glass.

grey goose is pretty good vodka although I usually drink smirnoff, always bring in glass bottles inside a plastic bag and wrapped in a towel or similar, as stated above plastic ones can be a lot more brittle

Do you guys know if it is technically ok to pack two one liter bottles in the same bag when traveling in a party of two. Or better to split them?

We are bringing a lot of electronics that is why i worry about the glass too, but i think it will be ok with the plastic bag and padding.

Technically not a problem and I can see why you would wish to. However, the bag will be checked in and linked with only 1 pax air ticket so legally, the Thai IO will see this as exceeding the one pax's limit regardless of the fact that 2 pax are traveling together on the same itinerary or are partners, same family or anything.

The only advice I can give is while you're waiting for the bags to come on the carousel, check if they're doing any 'all bags must be x-rayed' at the Green channel. They tend to pull this randomly, several times during the day but in my experience, it isn't prolonged so one can make time at the ATM, duty free or just look lost until it reverts to normal.

Russo-Baltique is pretty good, or Oval in a pinch.

Grey Goose is okay if you're drinking screwdrivers of some-such...

Depends where you are coming from.

Better unpack at the carousel and split before customs.

NO!

As others note, the customs chaps will treat it as belonging to the owner of the bag, and will confiscate and fine accordingly if they catch you smuggling.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

I have to ask...Why bring in Vodka? Stoli, Grey Goose, Belvedere, Absolut, Finlandia etc is available here in Thailand. If you are going to bring anything bring top shelf Rum, Tequila, Bourbon or Whiskey.  Those are not easily found. Of course if you don't drink those then all good.
