Hundreds take part in last leg of cycling event

Hundreds of cyclists took part in the Nation Bike Thailand ride in Ratchaburi province on Sunday.

The 800 participating cyclists, including Thai heartthrob Tanawat “Pope” Wattanaputi, got the opportunity to ride along Lam Phachi River and see the Tanaosri mountain range as well as attend a traditional blessing ceremony.

The event was the last leg of this year’s cycling programme held under the theme “Pan Slow Life Pan, Sai Jai Sing Wate Lom, Muang Tong Hamplad, or “Slow-life Cycling, Attention to Environment and Must-see City”.

The five previous legs were: Loei (February 25); Nan (March 25); Trang (April 29); Trat (May 27) and Buri Ram (June 24).

It is a pity the roads in Thailand are so dangerous to ride on. If they were not a lot more people would ride a bicycle myself included
