Tourist SIM dtac

Featured Replies

Ok. I am here as a tourist and said yes to the 3gb/8 days deal. So I am trying to renew and upgrade my account, but it seems this is not possible... Am I doing something wrong or does this sim expire after 8 day and I need to get new number???!! Have tried to change main package and upgrade with more gb. It just gets rejected because of the 8 days /3gb deal.

Have you tried to add value to your number/SIM/account? Go to a top-up machine, add 10 baht (cost is 12 baht) see what happens, generally this will convert the SIM. They're the orange machines in front of every convenience store here.

You used to be able convert those tourist SIMs to standard SIMs, but maybe they want to keep that pool recyclable? (Not asked, but you can convert a SIM go Inter! SIM, these are SIMs purchased from DTAC in Thailand for use roaming in other countries.)

Last resort, ask DTAC, best in a full-service shop in a major mall. Final resort, buy a 50 baht SIM (new/different number, unfortunately), add money, subscribe to your plan of choice.

You need to talk to a DTAC rep and see if they will change it? Happened to me a couple of years ago and they did, not sure these days.
