I was on phone to NW earlier and they now have a more sensible new system to prove your address in Thailand. They courier a form to sign to your Thai address and just need to return it. No need for any notary of address now. Must also notary ID/passport however.

Not quite on topic, buy I'll up vote transferwise if you need a backup solution.
