Attention Attention. As of 0900 this morning Immigration office at Jomtien will not issue any more Residents Certificate. I was told to go LTD and sort it out with them.

I have confirmed with 2 other sources this morning. A visa agent and a person that does licenses. Both confirmed the same information.

Licence lady said maybe it will be sorted by next week.

'Maybe sorted out next week?' If not, what does one do to renew a driving license? I have a yellow book but if Pattaya DLT will not accept it, will Rayong? Any experience out there?

This needs a thread of its own, big news

And not in the Chiang Mai forum.

For us CM locals what is the procedure for the “expedited” version of the residence certificate?... Is there an unmarked room in or near the new Immigration office?

I think somebody said there's an agency just across the road or somewhere.

Just done mine in Krabi.

2 x passport photo & visa page

Original + 1 copy of medical certificate

Original + 1 copy of Immigration letter (free).

860 Baht fee (for 5 year car and motorbike license).

Reaction and colour blindness test.

Job done 30 mins.

Lovely ladies, lots of chit chat and joking, even gave me their tissues to mop my hot brow before photos taken. Altogether pleasant and easy experience.

That's Krabi. What about Pattaya? Any feedback out there?
