psychiatric hospitals/clinics for serious depression Chonburi

Featured Replies

I am looking for a reasonably reliable clinic, hospital, preferably government, in the Chonburi area for someone who needs help with serious depression/insomnia. If any one can recommend anywhere in Chonburi/Rayong area it would be greatly appreciated. My google searches have been a little bit disappointing. Thanks.

The Chonburi Hospital is a regional level facility and will have psychiatrists on staff. In Chonburi town.

Likely also at least one or two at the Rayong town main government hospital.

If by any chance the person is a Thai  adolescent there is a specialized government hospital in Samut Prakan for this  http://www.ycap.go.th/eng/

It would help to know if this is for a Thai or foreigner. I am not sure how good the English language skills will be among pyschiatrists at Chonburi regional hospital and they are also unlikely to have much experience with patients from other cultures.

If it is for a foreigner, I would suggest this doctor at BPH https://www.bangkokpattayahospital.com/en/doctor-profile?v_id=150&depid=19

Do not buy meds at the hospital  (unless a controlled sleep med is prescribed in which case no choice)  ,there is a big markup. Anti-depressent meds can be bought at pharmacies over the counter, just note the name and dose.

I would also suggest this Western counselor who has an office in Pattaya  http://bangkoktherapy.com/contact/contact.aspx

If it is for a Thai, care at government hospital will be free but need a letter fo referral from whatever government hospital they are registered at under the "30 baht" (or SS) scheme.

Thanks very much for your reply and information. The person is a Thai national. Would you happen to know the name of the hospital you mentioned in Chonburi. It might be helpful when asking for directions. Once again, thank you for your time and helpful information.
