Steroid injection- Hua Hin or Bangkok?

Featured Replies

Fingers crossed I will soon be in Hua Hin for quite a few months.

I have a longstanding wrist condition and it may require another steroid injection.

The Orthapedic Doctor at Bangkok Hospital in Hua Hin does not inspire me, in truth, and more importantly he cannot offer an injection using the modern method of Ultrasound guidance( must have had the training). He can only do it 'blind' which is less likely to work and carries a little more risk.

I'm sure I could get one in Bangkok somewhere but does anyone have any knowledge or experience of Ultrasound guided steroid injections performed in Hua Hin?

If not, then assuming the next place is Bangkok any recommendations there?

Thanks

Go into Bangkok. You don't need to go any further than Thonburi area. There is a top hand specialist (US trained; professor at leading medical school) named Dr. Panupan Songcharoen who can be seen at either Thonburi Hosputal ir Siriraj hospital. Both are a not bad taxi ride from the Southern bus terminal or rail station.

He is also once a week at Payathai 2 hospital near Victory Monunent if you feel like going further into town for any reason.

Note that steroid injections do over time weaken ligaments and tendons so it is often advised not to have too many. Dr. Panupan can advise further. If your problem is carpal tunnel syndrome in my experience people usually end up needing surgery; I did and Dr. Panupan performed it.
