AIS - Roaming Package for Vietnam - Any Experience?

Hi guys, 

 

Headed to Vietnam tomorrow and I'm only staying for 3 nights. I looked in my AIS app and they have a roaming package/top up available. 2gb data - vietnam (Viettel network) for 900 baht. 

 

Anyone have experience in using these stuff? I'm currently on a 6 month data package and I'm scared that would be de-activated or something like that. Anyone who could share some light here?

 

900 baht for 2 gb for a couple of days is perhaps a bit more than a local sim at the airport, but at the same time I don't have to wait in line in the phone shop, switch sim, switch number etc. Seems great value to me. 

 

Would be great to hear some experience of these roaming top ups.
