Orthopedic Surgeon for Back ? Pattaya or ??? Urgent

Featured Replies

Good morning:

I have a friend, 80-year old lady. Top healthy and fit, hurt her back in the gym weigh-lifting and flat on her back in terrible pain in local "PM" hospital for 1 week now.

She is being offered surgery, but not happy with procedures and Dr.s offered.

I am urgently looking for a surgeon with good reputation anywhere, we can get her transported to an other hospital. She is not insured, self-payer.

Any help and suggestions much appreciated.   Have a nice Sunday MS>

Thank you. Still trying to get details. Only just got an SMS with call for help finding Dr. Will post as soon as I get details.  Thank you kindly.  MS>

A lot depends on what she can afford.

Ideally go to Prof. Wicharn at BNH Spine Center but if she needs admission or surgery that will not be cheap.

He also has hours at Bangkok Christian Hospital which costs a little less, but only once a week there.

In Pattaya, the best spine surgeon is at BPH,  Dr. Sompong Ratanarojpusit. Costs similiar to BNH hospital in Bangkok, maybe slightly more.

If she cannot afford private hospital costs then best option would be to transfer to Lerdsin Hospital in Bangkok, a government hospital with particular expertise in orthopedics. She will not be able to choose her doctor there, and language barriers will be significant.
