Two passengers were hurled out of a car and killed while the driver was injured in an accident in Chon Buri this morning, which police say was caused by drunk driving.

The Saen Sook police station was alerted at 4am of the fatal accident on the Sai Mitr Samphan road in Moo 6 village of Tambon Ban Peek in Chon Buri's Muang district.

Sarayut Aksornklun, 35, and Thevarit Manitboonkung, 35, were thrown through the windshield and died instantly.

The driver, Nattapol Sinlalai, 34, was found intoxicated behind the wheel.

He told police that he and the two friends were returning home after drinking at a pub near Bang Saen Beach but he had lost control at a bend in the road and hit a power pole.

He will be charged with drunk driving causing deaths after he has received treatment at a hospital.

Only problem is that killing his friends will weigh heavily on his mind and he will drink even more unless he is in the slammer.

Will it weigh heavily on his mind?

I would be very surprised if it did.

I cannot believe that Murphy was being serious there.  I agree about the slammer though.

Agreed about the slammer.

But it won't happen.

So many people come to Bang Saen beach and drink a lot then get on their motorbikes or cars and drive like someone’s chasing them. Hope they can put a damper on this with checkpoints.

If only there was a police force that could be persuaded to work at night!  I stopped going to Bang Saen at weekends because of the traffic dangers with nary a cop in sight.  Repeat all over Thailand; result The World's Deadliest Roads'.
