A man from Huay Yai near Pattaya was bailed in the sum of 50,000 baht after he was caught on CCTV attacking a dog.

The man seems to have attacked a pet from his own household after the animal bit a boy in the head.

His wife went to the police after footage appeared on her child's Facebook page of "Feya So".

Jantha Khaesanthia, 40, made the complaint against her husband Wanchalerm Runreuang, 31, who later gave himself up to Hay Yai police after a summons was issued Friday.

He has admitted everything.

Wanchalerm appeared to have posted pictures of better times with the pet dog, that he said he loved. It was just that the dog was unpredictable around children.

He said on Facebook that he got angry.

Footage showed him clubbing the animal, then swinging it and battering it to death on a tree stump.

A video on the site of We Love Pattaya showed him carrying the dead animal to the trash.

Wanchalerm faces up to two years in jail or a fine of 40,000 baht or both for animal cruelty.

The case is expected to be heard by the Pattaya court within a month.

We Love Pattaya contacted the wife who said that the couple are apart but have not permanently split up.

It was not confirmed that the injured boy was the couple's son or a neighbor.

When a bangkaew bit my hand in a shop the owner couldn;t care much...when i spoke him a week later and told him the injections i needed were very expensive he shrug his shoulders....the dog is still in that shop.....

It was lucky i was wearing slippers or i would have kicked the dog as hard as i could.

If the dog was properly trained it would be socialised and know not to bite. Ironic that the owners lack of care leads to the death of the dog. If a dog is biting kids and it's not being baited by them, you don't have much choice but to put them down.

Whats bizzaro is the childs mum sells father out.  Shouldnt she have childs interst first?  Even if their relationship was on the rocks she would think he is a good protector?

Jail the dog-killer!  Unbelievable! I thought the authorities were trying to stop the spread of rabies?  Has the child been checked out medically?

Looking at the photos that is a bad bite wound to the boys head, it will likely get very painful and take a long time to heal up.

I don't think the man was intentionally torturing the dog, rather he was trying to kill it.

The dog would have been put down in any other country, but here the vets won't do it, so he had to take matters into his own hands.  The fine and punishment don't fit this crime at all.

What did people who are outraged want to happen in this kind of situation?  A dog attacks and injures a child, badly, and nothing is to be done?  The dog still happy in the garden till the next attack?

I have had dogs all my life.  None would every bite someone.  There has to be something wrong with the dogs temperament and the way the owners raised it if its going to resort to attacking people like that.

I think people are missing the point.I dont think anyone really objects to the dog being killed.

The problem is the "way" and manner in which it was killed that was the problem. Barbaric and unneccesary  cruelty in my opinion.

But Thailand nooooo man go jail

I love Thailand but I have lost all respect for their justice system and religion

Sad

What is sad is people making comments when in fact do not know the facts.

the biting child was his version of an excuse . Child was NOT bitten or hurt in any way , shape or form. They were playing and he the good hubby was in a bad mood.

seen any evidence of child being hurt or treated for dog bite attack?

Well, 'nice' wife then..  The dog bit a boy in the head, and she rats out her husband.
