Depositing US checks in a Bangkok Bank account

Is there any direct way to do this, or is the only option to deposit my USA checks in an American bank and then do a wire or ACH transfer?

It's easy, just present your check to the bank and they will collect on it, it takes about one month.

I think 15US$ collection fees is charged by Bangkok bank too.

Yes of course, about THB 500 the last time I did it. Note: not all banks in Thailand will do this, some will not have any contact with US mainland banks whatsoever, UOB being one.
